Vetting Council (Volunteer)
Responsible for evaluating and vetting both prospective and active players. By implementing the UBL’s 1–8 ranking system, you will ensure consistent, high-level competition, directly upholding the league's prestigious reputation and standard of excellence!
Ideal for individuals with an understanding of badminton playstyle and are able to recognise talent.
Administrator
(Volunteer)
Want to go behind the scenes at the UBL? Our team of three is expanding! We need an extra pair of hands to help verify ranks, manage forms, prepare score sheets, organise agendas, and support our social media. Join us and help take the UBL to the next level!
Ideal for individuals with a good organisation and communication skills. A passion for badminton is a bonus.
Event Organiser (Volunteer)
Responsible for the end-to-end execution of competition days, from technical setup (cameras, audio equipment) to event teardown. This role ensures the seamless flow of league games by managing court-side logistics, tracking scores, coordinating shuttles distribution, and delivering high-quality hospitality to players and guests!
Ideal for individuals with a logistical mindset and a passion for badminton.
Journalist
(Volunteer)
Draft and publish diverse editorial content for the UBL, ranging from league announcements, upcoming event previews, and player signing news to match-day recaps and mid-season ranking analyses. Pitch and develop engaging story angles that highlight league culture and player profiles.!
Ideal for passionate writers or journalism students looking to build a robust portfolio of published sports media content.

Recently, I joined the Ultimate Badminton League, where I’ve delved into the fast-paced world of sports photography, adding dynamic action shots to my portfolio.

Hi! I’m Jon, and I'm proud to be part of the UBL creative team for 2025 and beyond, managing website content and news updates!
I ran my own digital media company for 6 years creating photo, video, and web content for brands including RedBull and the British Karting Championships.
When I'm not playing badminton, I'm building and flying drones for a living - so keep an eye out for our new eye-in-the-sky!

Harpreet is a dual-qualified medical doctor and pharmacist with a strong interest in sports medicine and athlete wellbeing. He is currently working as a Foundation Year 1 doctor, he also brings over six years of clinical pharmacy experience across diverse healthcare settings, including trauma, orthopaedics, and emergency medicine.
In his role as Lead First Aider, Harpreet will support courtside first aid provision to help ensure the safety and care of UBL players at as many fixtures as possible.

Hi, I'm Rob! I've been heavily involved with Badminton for over 20 years, as a player, coach and content creator. It is a sport I am hugely passionate about and believe it should be showcased in the highest quality.
I started Bad Graphics in 2020 with this goal in mind and have been fortunate to work alongside Yonex, Li-ning, Badminton England, BWF and now the UBL!

He has used his talents and training to take him all over the world performing at legendary venues and festivals like: Rock The Bells and Splash Festival.
His skill sets are: Tour Management, Road Management, Stage Management, Sales Executive, Music Producer, DeeJay, Comic Book Writer, Series Producer, Business Consultant, Social Media Brand Consultant, Promoter, Booking Agent, Model and Engineer.

Hey, I’m André! I’ve recently joined UBL to keep their website running smoothly, while occasionally jumping behind the lens to help out with photography and video.
I also run a digital marketing freelance business where I work with a huge variety of clients - though I’ll admit I have a soft spot for anything involving sports or animals.
My life outside of work is defined by Ultimate Frisbee. It’s a huge year for me, as I’ll be headed to Limerick, Ireland, to represent Reading at the 2026 World Ultimate Club Championships!
