ABOUT UBL
Since being founded in 2002, the Ultimate Badminton League (UBL) is now the biggest UK's top-level, elite badminton competition. The UBL has grown massively over the past four years and what started as a competitive local badminton league has now developed into a nationwide community of players who are passionate not only about badminton, but also about fitness, competition, and creating a positive environment for people to connect through sport.

UBL players are vetted to determine their player value from 1-8. This value is determined by their ability, league results and other competition results. The UBL is inclusive to all competitive badminton players and below is what separates each division:
-
Conference – Strong social players playing in regional lower leagues.
-
Championship – Experienced tournament players, seasoned competitors playing in mid to upper-tier leagues.
-
Premiership – Top level athletes who play for their counties, with successes in national tournaments domestic and international.

A squad consists of up to ten players, with each squad permitted to enter one team in either the Men's or Women's Division.

The UBL competition format is straightforward and exciting. Each match fixture requires six players and is contested using standard level doubles play. What sets UBL apart is its innovative scoring system, known as "Every Point Matters." Rather than simply counting match wins, the winner of each fixture is determined by the total number of points scored across all matches against the opposing team. This unique approach ensures that every rally and every point can have a significant impact on the final result.

The regular season begins with a group-stage format, running throughout the first half of the calendar year. Following the completion of the group stages, teams advance to an elimination round, with the top performers earning their place in the Ultimate Finale, where the division champions are crowned.
